Virtual Immersive Teaching and Learning (VITaL): Future Trends & Current Realities

Teaching with XR technologies is still on the cutting edge, and early studies show the use of immersive technology simulation increases student understanding of the content through problem-based learning, as well as improves student attention and motivation to learn. This session showcases applications for virtual, augmented, mixed realities, and 360º video across disciplines within the California State University system and beyond.  Attendees will learn how the VITaL initiative enables students and faculty to develop, research, and learn with these technologies collaboratively. Additionally, effective practices for facilitating and supporting immersive technology will be discussed.
