Early Career Meeting
Aiding assistant professors

Each summer, the University of Iowa welcomes new faculty members to campus. For Anna Flaming, associate director at the Center for Teaching, it’s an opportunity to invite tenure-track assistant professors to join the Early Career Faculty Academy, an initiative of the Office of Teaching, Learning, and Technology Center for Teaching in coordination with the Office of the Provost.

Academy Celebrates 5 Years

This academic year, the OTLT Center for Teaching’s Early Career Faculty Academy celebrates its fifth cohort. To celebrate the program, we asked five members, one from each cohort, reflect on their experiences in the Academy.

Teaching Community for New Tenure-Track Faculty Wraps Up Successful First Year

The Office of Teaching, Learning & Technology Center for Teaching launched the Early Career Faculty Academy in the fall of 2015 with a community of seventeen first-year, tenure-track assistant professors from five colleges across campus who, with the encouragement of their DEOs, focus on balancing teaching with research and other obligations, employing effective, efficient teaching pedagogies, and preparing for the third-year review.
