Big data has been collected and utilized heavily to facilitate decision making in public administration and business operations. Much of these data contain rich location and time information. How to effectively and efficiently manage and analyze these spatio-temporal big data (STBD) is not only a critical research focus but also a key skill that students need to develop through their education. This session first motivates the need to integrate STBD analytics in education by introducing applications of STBD analytics in societal and business scenarios. Then the session will discuss research progress in this area and how we integrate this research into teaching, as well as related challenges and opportunities.
