TILE Celebrates 500 Instructors

In only eight years, the TILE program has managed to leave a lasting impact on over 500 faculty members and thousands of students across the UI campus. TILE, which encourages inquiry-guided, team-based teaching and learning, kicked off in 2010. Supported by the latest technology, TILE classrooms have transformed the ways instructors teach and students learn at Iowa.

TILE Feedback Shaping New TILE Program Initiatives

As the TILE (Transform, Interact, Learn, Engage) Program nears its seventh anniversary, faculty feedback remains crucial to the program’s success. In December of 2016, the Office of Teaching, Learning & Technology invited 386 instructors to partake in a survey that will guide how we move forward to improve and enhance the teaching and learning experience in the TILE Program.

Registration for spring 2019 TILE Essentials now open

TILE Essentials is the Center for Teaching’s two-day intensive workshop that focuses on the active-learning pedagogies implemented by instructors who teach in TILE (as well as other) classrooms. Upon completion of both days of TILE Essentials, instructors will be enabled to request a TILE room from the Registrar’s Office. Spring TILE Essentials will be held from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, and Friday, March. 6.
